Would Mr. Esty head (back) to Washington?

With Elizabeth Esty now headed to Washington as the state's newest member of Congress, it's somewhat logical to wonder whether her husband Dan -- the commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection -- might also head there where here served for a number of years in the Environmental Protection Agency.
Apparently this occurred to Mr. Esty as well, since according to DEEP spokesman Dennis Schain, he actually brought it up at a staff meeting Wednesday morning.
Schain said Esty noted his wife's victory and quoted him as saying, "he loves his job here and he has no plans to do anything else."
Sounds like at least a little crack in the door.

He does nothing for the Environment at DEEP so go! We requested numerous times for DEEP to do independent soil testing at a site in Windsor where the buyer/builder admitted to chlordane and dieldren. This site is in a neighborhood. We begged for independent testing but since this was a site being built at the behest of his friend Dannel nothing was going to stop it. Not the attorney for the company stating 'we will not release the soil results' not citing they would move the highest levels of contaminate to berms within 50 feet of homes..nothing. The water in the sound is so hot Millstone had to shut down due to warm (polluted) waters. Pollution land, sea and air is not being dealt with-instead they are signing off for big business. They literally stand right in the middle of contaminated dirt blowing off the site and say they do not see it. They claim to approve testing done by this company though refused to test themselves. The current DEEP being run by Esty is a waste of money in a State that is bleeding profusely financially.
I find it odd that Esty's office is not replying as this type of environmental issue is his area of expertise. It sounds like you have a SuperFund candidate site. If DEEP is truly ignoring you, call the EPA Regional Office:
