Larson was elected without opposition in 2008, succeeding six-term Democrat Michael Christ, who did not seek re-election after failing to become House majority leader. Larson did not face opposition in the 2010 election cycle.

Background

Name recognition was not a problem for this freshman in his first campaign for the General Assembly. His brother is John B. Larson, the congressman and former state Senate leader. And Tim Larson was the popular mayor of solidly Democratic East Hartford for eight years. After a three-year break, he is back in politics.

He lives in East Hartford with his wife and two children.
