Election History

Janowski won an open seat in 2000 with 55 percent of the vote. She succeeded Democrat Thomasina Clemons. She defeated GOP challenge Mark Etre in 2010 with 62 percent of the vote.

Background

Janowski was a member of the Vernon Town Council and a legislative aide prior to her election as a legislator. Janowski, whose district includes Rockville General Hospital, has been pressing for a new requirement that hospitals obtain state Office of Health Care Access approval before terminating any inpatient or outpatient services.

Financial Disclosure

Janowski reported no wages in 2010 other than her legislative salary. She owns a home in Vernon and has several IRA accounts, but no individual stocks.Janowski filed a confidential addendum listing any debts exceeding $10,000.
