Election History

Betty Boukus was elected in 1994, succeeding Democrat Eugene G. Millerick. She won 64 percent of the vote against longtime Plainville Town Council member Helen Bergenty. 

Background

Boukus was chairwoman of the Plainville Town Council before becoming a state legislator.

She lives in Plainville. She is married and the mother of two and grandmother of three.

Financial Disclosure

Boukus reported ncome as a state legislatir, Social Security, and retirement from Cigna. Her husband, Gary Boukus Sr., had income from a state pension and the Capitol Regional Education Council.Their stock holdings included ING, Cigna and mutual funds. They had an IRA managed by the Knights of Columbus.They own property in Plainville, Dover and Westbrook.Boukus filed a confidential addendum listing any debts exceeding $10,000.
