Morin was first elected in 2006, winning the seat long held by Democrat Paul Doyle, who moved to the Senate. Morin won 60 percent of the vote in the 2010 election.
Morin served on the Wethersfield Board of Education and Town Council and was mayor before running for the legislature. As a state legislator helped get a law passed that authorizes trusts for the care of a pet that survives their owner.
Russ lives in Wethersfield with his wife and three children.
