Fawcett unseated four-term Republican Catherine C. Tymniak in 2006, winning by 482 votes against an incumbent who had been unopposed two years earlier.

Background

Fawcett was a legislative aide to Maryland Gov. Donald Schaefer while she attended graduate school at George Washington University. She relocated to Fairfield in 1999 with her husband and three children and plunged into community affairs.

Financial Disclosure

Fawcett reported no income other than her legislative wages. Her husband, Richard J. Fawcett, is employed by Origen Digital.
