Public financing: Perone received $24,700 in public financing for his campaign under the Citizens' Election Program and returned a surplus of $467.16.
Wink received $25,000 and returned $147.26.
Background: Perone voted with the Democratic majority on nearly every high-profile fiscal and social issue. An exception was his opposition in 2007 to the legalization of medical marijuana.
He was a member of the Norwalk Common Council from 2001 to 2003.

Financial disclosure: Perone reported income from a company called Unit 7. He and his wife, Christy Perone, own a home in Norwalk. He reported owning "various" securities without providing further details.
He voluntarily disclosed a debt of more than $10,000 to Wells Fargo Mortgage.
