Hoydick was elected in a special election on March 2, 2010, succeeding seven-term Republican John A. Harkins, who resigned after his election as mayor of Stratford. She was sworn in March 8.
Hoydick is a former Board of Education member and chairwoman. She also is the former executive director of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce.
Hoydick is married and the mother of three. They reside in Stratford.
Hoydick reported owning property in Stratford. She received income from Winstanley Enterprises, a property investment and development company. Her husband is employed by Sysco Foods and also received income from working at a community center.Hoydick and her husband reported holding several investments valued at $5,000 or more.
