Susan Bysiewicz, who won her first statewide primary with a memorable attack ad in 1998, is keeping it positive with her second TV spot in her U.S. Senate race, promoting her record while ignoring the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, Chris Murphy.
A smiling Bysiewicz looks into the camera and says, "Some people say I shouldn't run for the Senate, because I didn't get the party endorsement. I've heard that before."
She won a Democratic primary for secretary of the state in 1998 as the challenger.
Bysiewicz talks about her role in passing two bills as a state lawmaker: a ban on so-called drive-through mastectomies and a ban on gifts from lawmakers.
